In addition to seasonal fruits and vegetables, the City Market in Križevci will soon provide local energy from the Sun! In just 10 days since the opening of our first call for members, about 100 existing and new members have invested a total of 140.000 euros and thus secured funds for ZEZ Sun’s first solar PV plant at the City Market in Križevci!
We are building a solar PV plant at the City Market in Križevci
Through a public call, ZEZ Sun has acquired the right to rent the roof of the City Market owned by the Križevci Utility Company.
In March 2024 we raised 140.000 euros for the construction of a 200 kW solar PV plant on this roof. The total investment amounts to 160.000 euros, and the initial 20.000 euros was provided by 39 members-co-founders of the ZEZ Sun.
This is how it works
The energy we produce will be sold on the market. From the profits generated, we will provide a yield for members. Annually, we expect a yield of up to 5%. We anticipate to provide the first yield in 2026.
Part of our profit will be invested in projects beneficial for the society and the environment in our neighborhoods and cities, primarily to reduce energy poverty and protect the environment. In the long run, we are working to be able to offer the use of energy from our solar PV plants in households or business facilities of our members.

We are ZEZ Sun
ZEZ Sun is a European energy cooperative whose establishment was encouraged by the Green Energy Cooperative (ZEZ) and currently has 127 members. ZEZ Sun brings together citizens for joint, long-term and non-speculative investment in solar power plants to create positive social, environmental and economic values in their community.
In ZEZ Sun we involve citizens, craftsmen, entrepreneurs, farmers and other legal entities in the production of renewable, locally produced electricity, for the benefit of members of the cooperative, but also of the community in which we operate. In short, in the ZEZ Sun we produce our energy.
The project of building the first solar power plant ZEZ Sun at the City Market in Križevci is supported by the Green Energy Cooperative (ZEZ), the City of Križevci and the energy cooperative KLIK.
